negawatt is provided free, as-is, by BN3 Consulting Limited. Use of the site and any digests you sign up for is on these terms.
What the service does
negawatt shows half-hourly electricity prices for the Octopus Agile tariff, using prices published by Octopus through their public API, and optionally sends you a daily email digest summarising tomorrow's prices for the region you chose.
Not affiliated with Octopus Energy
We are not Octopus Energy. We are not endorsed by, partnered with, or otherwise affiliated with Octopus Energy. We just consume their public Agile tariff API in the same way any developer can.
Accuracy
All prices come from Octopus. We don't guarantee that what you see here is up-to-date or accurate, and we don't guarantee that emails arrive on time. For anything that matters — switching usage, charging an EV, planning your day — verify the prices directly with Octopus before acting on them.
Free, with no guarantees
There is no charge for using negawatt and there are no service-level guarantees. We may change, pause, or shut down the service at any time.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the site or its API. Don't sign other people up to digests without their permission. Don't attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BN3 Consulting Limited is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or its emails, including (without limitation) any financial loss, lost time, or missed opportunity from acting on prices shown here. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that can't be excluded under English law.
Termination
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We may terminate and/or block accounts and IP addresses that abuse the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
