Who we are

negawatt is a trading name of BN3 Consulting Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 12848799), based in Horsham, UK. BN3 Consulting Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through this site.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you sign up for digests.
• Your region — the Octopus GSP letter you choose (e.g. "J" for South Eastern England).
• Your alert rules — which kinds of price alerts you've enabled.
• The time we last sent you an email, so we can space out deliveries.

What we don't collect

No name. No phone number. No postal address. No information about your actual electricity usage. No access to your Octopus account — we just read the same public price API anyone can read.

How we use it

To send the digests you signed up for, and nothing else. We don't sell, rent, or share your email with anyone. We don't profile you. We don't run ads.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. After that we retain the bare minimum to honour your unsubscribe request for 30 days, then your record is deleted.

Who we share it with

Amazon Web Services hosts the site and stores the subscriber list, in the UK (eu-west-2, London). AWS acts as our data processor under a standard data-processing agreement. We don't share your data with any other third parties.

Cookies

We don't set cookies. Our analytics provider, Fathom Analytics, is privacy-first and doesn't set cookies either. Your browser may use its own local storage (for example, to remember the region you last viewed) — that data never leaves your device.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you, correct, delete, or hand over your data, and you can object to how we use it. Email hello@negawatt.app and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the date below. Existing subscribers won't be re-prompted to consent unless the change materially affects how we use their data.
